Homecare Resources
Water, rest, Epsom salt bath. Our bodies are built to heal themselves, and with the right energy, direction and time many issues will come back into balance. The following are a collection of paths into further healing that I have found helpful. So if I mentioned something during a session that you want to look into, here's the links:
Nutritional Testing
This hair sample testing is the best advice I have found for diet and supplements. The results are very specific to the individual, and take the guess work out of giving your body what it needs. A similar but more detailed saliva testing that also comes with expert personal advice is also available through naturopath and acupuncturist Michelle Collett at CBS Wellness.
Franklin Method Fellowship
Physical therapists Solange Ross and Debora Chasse have an excellent series of free Franklin Method classes available on YouTube. They cover anatomy, movement and imagery for every part of the body, but I particularly recommend the healing power of their pelvic floor videos.
YogAlign with Michaelle Edwards
Overstretching? Is your life bringing you out of alignment? My dear mentor and friend Michaelle in Kaua'i taught me how to bring the body back into natural movement using her breathing techniques and contract-relax stretching. Her YouTube Channel has a bunch of great videos, including her latest: Are yoga poses safe?
Body Code and Emotion Code
The best therapist I've ever found is our own bodies! This technique combines muscle testing with an extensive database of conditions and emotions, allowing intuitive guidance to quickly identify what and how we need to release. I use this daily as part of my meditation and strongly recommend for anyone looking to address the emotional or energetic aspects of their health.
Gluten-Free Baking
"Baking is equal parts self-care and care for others," writes Aran Goyoaga in her cookbook Canelle et Vanille Bakes Simple. When I realized I needed to switch to a gluten and dairy free diet, this is the cookbook I found to replace my old recipes. Sourdough rice flour bread, pancakes, cookies, pies, cakes, it's all delicious, and if anything I bake a lot more now that I've found her cookbook!
